Shipping FAQ
How do you charge for shipping?
We charge for shipping according to the product weight and size, which is either calculated by us or supplied to us by the product wholesaler. This gets us pretty close to what we are charged by Fed Ex and the U.S. Postal Service. We make no money on shipping.
Do you charge a handling charge?
We do not charge a handling charge, except on extremely fragile or extremely heavy items. We feel that is just a cost of doing business. Because of this, however, we try not to spend much money on packing materials and try to use recycled materials whenever possible. We are betting that you would rather have less cost than snazzy packing materials. We’ve even found that our customers often get a kick out of our crazy packaging, as this email from a customer (Michael Elliott) showed us …

So please thank John A for using the comics pages of the paper to pack my box. I got a good laugh from reading some of the comics that aren’t in our paper. Oh, and the kit was in good shape to.

How soon will I get my Aquaponic Source order?
- Please allow up to 10 business days for economy ground or parcel post delivery
- Expedited 2-day delivery service is available
- Orders received by 2:00 p.m. mountain time are usually processed that same day, assuming the items are in-stock.
Which shipping providers do you use?
We offer a choice between Federal Express and the U.S. Postal Service Parcel Post. While this complicates our business, we felt it was important to offer a choice, especially for smaller, lighter items that may be shipped by the USPS at a lower cost. Please understand that your shipment is only insured and tracked with Federal Express. If you select USPS you assume all risk of damage and risk of the shipment not arriving at all. All shipments are considered “FOB shipping point”, which means that you pay shipping cost, select the shipper and assume responsibility for the goods when the goods leave the our premises.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes we do! We now ship most of our products all over the world. The exception to this are live products (fish and worms) and some of our drop shipped items. International shipments are only with USPS.
